Creating a Keyword List

If you are working in ppc buying ads on adwords, yahoo, msn, or adbrite, you will need to generate a list of target keywords. There are several products out there that will help you generate a list of keywords to promote with. One of the most successful software packages to use for this is Keyword Elite.

Other ways you can generate a list is by using the Overture inventory tool, or the Google keyword suggestion tool. While these other solutions are not quite as end-to-end as Keyword Elite, they will be very helpful to you.

I used the Google keyword suggestion tool to create a small list of keywords for one of my loan websites. This tool helped suggest a few keywords that I used later. It also helped give me ideas for other keywords to place bids on. Since I am not tracking down expensive one word keywords, I have to create a list of minor keywords in niche areas. An example of keywords that have a lower competition would be the difference between "Mustang" and bidding for "8 cylinder stick Mustang." Which will be way cheaper than just "Mustang" alone.
